It is easy to recognize the immediate effects of alcohol use; slurred speech, trouble walking, slower reaction times, and impaired judgment. These symptoms may fade in a few hours, but the long term effects of alcohol abuse are permanent. Drinking makes you more likely to get certain illnesses and diseases. These lasting effects include, but are not limited to:

Liver Disease

Alcohol Hepatitis

Cirrhosis of the Liver

Heart Disease

Stroke

High Blood Pressure

Cancer of the Voice Box, Mouth, Throat, or Esophogus

Breast Cancer

Pancreatitis

Loss of brain cells

Epilepsy

Nerve damage

Irritated stomach lining and bleeding from stomach ulcers

Infertility

Skin problems

Obesity

Muscle disease

Vitamin deficiency

Sexual problems
